Patient Support Programs (PSP) are programs aimed at increasing patients’ compliance with a specific therapy and are increasingly delivered in a digital version, through software made available on apps or other platforms. But how is the digital PSP regulated and what distinguishes it from other health apps? What are the tools to guarantee the patient’s health and privacy? Despite some attempts to frame the phenomenon, there is still a huge regulatory gap with respect to the “digital revolution” underway in the health sector, calling for a clear and organic regulation.
